About Us |
| The Superior Park Model Homes story is quite an
interesting one, not your typical "about us" story. You see,
John Sprague and Jim Sheehan never thought they would be in
the business of manufacturing and building park model homes.
They always thought of themselves as campground owners who
would be buying park model homes and renting them inside
their resort to generate rental income. Little did they know
that their business plan was going to change drastically in
just a few short years. Please read on and you will see what
we mean.
John and Jim started a company which they named Everglades Venture Company, LLC. This company was set to conduct its business as Everglades Adventures RV and Sailing Resort located on the shores of Lake Okeechobee, in Pahokee, Florida. The primary focus of this company is the management and operation of an RV Campground and full service Marina. A specialized component of the campground is the rental of park model cabins made available to the general public for nightly, weekly, or monthly use. Everglades Adventures purchased these park models from various manufacturers for its rental fleet. Several potential customers expressed interest in purchasing park models for their personal use. Seeing this as an opportunity, John and Jim decided to begin selling park model homes and cabins. As a result of this decision, a second company was needed to conduct that business. |

Lake Okeechobee Redevelopment, LLC, the second company, was formed
by the same partners and subsequently started its first DBA as
Florida Rustic Cabins. This new company became a licensed RV Dealer
in the state of Florida, with the intent to market and sell park
model homes and log cabins to consumers. It became evident over time that the park models John and Jim had purchased from the manufacturers did not meet the companies' expectations as to quality or amenities offered, as well as warranty issues which were never resolved. Therefore, in the best interest of both companies and for their customers, they believed they had only one choice: to manufacture the quality product which they intended to rent and sell. Superior Park Model Homes was formed under Lake Okeechobee Redevelopment, to manufacture Quality Park Model Homes and Cabins. The planning of this new company began in October of 2004 and in early 2005 Superior Park Model Homes began manufacturing and building Quality Park Models. Superior builds a base line in both log and vinyl. We also build a unique, high quality luxury series in both log and vinyl, offering amenities and upgrades most often found in higher end Residential Homes. Superior Park Model Homes has since introduced several other models such as the Coastal Living Series. Superior Park Model Homes knows the importance of Quality Construction, as our sister company Everglades Adventures RV and Sailing Resort is situated in a severe weather location. We strongly believe that while our homes are luxurious and pleasing to the eye, they are also competitively priced, giving our customers both Quality and Value. We also believe that we have an edge on our competition, due to the fact that we own and operate a resort and we understand the needs of the campground owner; we have also been a dealer, and most importantly we were a customer that was NOT taken care of by another company. Therefore, we know the importance of a manufacturer that stands behind its product. We know and understand how important our customers are.
